God of War the movie Update....

CinCity2000 has just posted an article claiming David Self's script for the God of War feature film is complete and holds true to the games story...Clash of the Titans on Steroids and Methamphetamines"
As is probably the case in the game, all of this is hyper-realized in Self's
script. Athens is a megalopolis, the New York of Ancient Greece with 300
foot-high walls, towers and aeries that stretch even higher, and at its center
an enormous temple to Athena. Satyrs are not impish goat-men, but
8-foot-tall, hellish brutes. Cyclops are 20-30 foot-tall behemoths.
Medusa's lower, serpentine half of her body stretches 50 feet long. The
Hydra is a leviathan of the deep ocean with necks as thick as redwoods.
The gods are not merely human-sized beings in white robes lounging around
Olympus, but titanic in size and power. Ares, when not taking the form of
a fiery tornado, manifests as a giant 600 feet tall, adorned in jet black armor,
with a blazing mane and beard, and bleeds a combustible, oil-like fluid.
In short, everything about God of War is like Clash of the Titans, only taken to
the extreme and amped up to satisfy the 21st century sensibilities of males aged
15-25. "

Free Swim's 9 PS3 titles for '09

Well 2008 couldn't end soon enough for most people around the world, with the economy in very poor shape and unemployment hitting an all time high in 30 years, what's there to look forward to? Well if you have your health that's a good thing and if you have a Playstation 3 that's something else!

2008 was a good year for Sony's Playstation 3, We got MGS4, GTA4, Resistance 2, Socom Confrontation, Bioshock, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Valkyria Chronicals, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Fallout 3, Dead Space, Little Big Planet, Life w/ Playstation and Playstation Home.

Keeping with tradition here's Free Swim's list of the nine most anticipated titles for 2009.

9. M.A.G. One of the surprise announcements at last years E3, this "massive action game" had me at hello, but then I stopped and thought.."this is coming from Zipper, they can't even get 32 multiplayer to work properly let alone keep glitchers from hacking their games...how the hell are they gonna do this!?". I'm hoping this will be the new "socom experience" we're all looking for.

8.Gran Turismo 5 GT Prologe is probably the best beta you'll ever pay t play....lets face it, we know GT5 is gonna be amazing but if this game takes much longer to launch, Duke Nukem might beat them to market. I understand perfection takes time, and I'm really looking forward to this GT, especially if they get the online multiplayer tuned!

7. Resident Evil 5: Chris Redfield goes on safari in Africa and stumbles upon a secret....Umbrella had a sister company named Parasol! Chris reactivates Stars and fights his way thru bubble making zombies till he's finds himself face to face with Albert Wesker and his mutant buddies Bub and Bob!

6. Final Fantasy XIII: Well XII was a bit of a let down so I'm sure SquarEnix isn't gonna hold back on the awsome for this installment...but Shiva becoming a motorcycle...I'm not so sure about that...

5. Killzone 2: This game has ALOT to live up to, that infamous teaser from E3 07 is gonna be scrutinized when KZ2 launches, all I care about is if the gameplay is solid and the multiplayer is lag free.

4. Uncharted 2: The teaser from 2008's VGA's got me so psyched for this game, Nathan's the man!

3. Final Fantasy Versus XIII: The PS3 exclusive looks simply amazing, I'm not sure it'll make it out this year but if it does, it'll be a system seller for sure!

2. God of War III Kratos on the PS3, what else needs to be said?

1. Street Fighter IV: Yeah this list may be a bit biased, but I've covered this game so much last year I had to put it as MY #1 choice! HADOKEN!

God of War III VGA 08 teaser

The first two God of War games were epic to be understated, I expect GoWIII to be a "OMFG" game, thie VGA's gave us our first glimpse of Kratos in in GoWIII...it was great to see the angriest spartan in history but the teaser didn't leave me psyched at all..it was definately not the "OMFG" experience it should've been.
Anyway check out Kratos doing what he does best get angry and kick the shit out of stuff!

E3 2008: God of War III teaser trailer

The God of War series has been amazing so far, now that Kratos is taking the fight to his old man in Olympus on the PS3 it's gonna get crazy!

Hold onto your toga's and don't drop your gyro, feast your eyes on the first sighting of Kratos for the PS3!

Game Review: God of War

What do you get when you put your VHS tape of Clash of the Titans and CastleVania in the blender and hit puree? You get served God of War! This action/adventure game looks promising the game engine looks inspired by Konomi's Vamp slayer in Rygars realm of Greek Mythos. God of War is like a great book, you find yourself unable to put the controller down because you want to find out what happens next. The story of Kratos plays out like a Tarantino film, the begining is the end is the begining. Speaking of Kratos, he one bad ass MFer! He'd give Snake a run for his money in the "coolest game character" catagory. The games starts off mercilessly with Kratos battling the minions of Ares in the Agean Sea, and the first boss fight seals the deal that this is no CastleVania clone! The game employs a fighting engine similar to Parappa the Rappa & DDR get the sequence/timing correct and you'll pull off some impressive kills. Kratos can acquire new attacks for the Blades of Chaos by collecting blood orbs which are obtained by killing monsters, breaking objects such as pottery and statues, and opening chests. And speaking of chests (ATTENTION PARENTS), GoW is the first game I've played where there is totally topless, women in bed together plain as day. This is not some "hot coffee" secret, it is at the beginning of the second chapter and if you want to get some "expirience" hop in bed with the ladies and give em some hot Spartan luvin.... After the story unfolds a little and you realize Kratos' motivation the game becomes even more enjoyable, the action never lets up but story is what drives this title from an average action platformer to an exceptional addition to your library, it doesn't hurt either that the main character is one badass anti hero. The graphics are above par and the level design is fantastic, some areas trully help redefine the typical platformer and the sense of scope reaches new hights literaly and figuratively. One instance that comes to mind is while scaling a wall on the Temple of Pandora you'll spot the Titan Cronus, you'll suddenly realize just how high up you are. God of War also has an air of exploration that is reminiscent of Tomb Raider that can payoff, and the puzzles in the game actually seem intelligent and serve a purpose. I just completed one last night that had me sacrafice an innocent man trapped in a cage, ever see Temple of Doom? Flame On indeed!God of War also has a fantastic soundtrack that adds to the drama within the game and makes the whole experience more cinematic. If you have a decent home theater this game will sound incredible.
