SSFIV Arcade Edition update

The arcade version of SSFIV may have more than just Yun and Yang....the oft requested evil Ryu and "Oni/Shin" Akuma may be hidden jems. When will they arrive via DLC on consoles? At this rate Capcom should just announce "hey we're gonna eventually add all previous characters from SF, SFII,SFII, SFA, SFA2, SFA3"
And here's a request from lil ol me, World Tour Mode was fun, add that mode via DLC.

Olympic Gold..BAH! GamerBee reached top 8 in EVO 2010

Four days have past and Gamerbee has returned home to Taiwan after defeating Justin Wong. You ask "What's EVO?" here in the US and most people will say a car made by Mitsubishi, but in Taiwan gaming is a large part of the culture and this dude "Gamerbee" makes the prime time news!
Poor Justin Wong, all he gets is another video on Youtube of a "shocking loss"...better luck next year dude.

Evo 2010 Finals to be broadcast on G4

It's been a long time coming but finally the EVO fighting game championship finals will be broadcast on TV and online via G4. I'm totally in full support of this and I hope more networks like ESPN see this as a viable tournament to support, I mean c'mon they cover the world series of poker...

Game Review: Super Street Fighter IV

The Street Fighter series is notorious for version updates...
Street Fighter II: World Warriors-> SFII Champion Edition->SFII Turbo: Hyper Fighting->Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers -> Super Street Fighter II Turbo
With each of those revisions to the SFII series we got a few game play tweaks or roster updates.
With the success of Street Fighter IV it was only a matter of time before we got an  update. Unlike previous version updates this one's a doozy! 10 "new" characters, 5 new stages, 3 new modes, the return of bonus stages and the replay channel, a second Ultra for all characters, new alt outfits for the entire roster!
You'll notice I put new in parenthesis  in regards to the 10 new characters in actuality only 2 are totally new.

Juri: an agent of S.I.N. Korean taekwondo practitioner, who lost her parents and one eye to Shadaloo. Her damaged left eye is replaced by SIN tech (Feng Shui Engine).

Hakan is a Turkish oil wrestler who enters the tournament to prove his fighting style is the best....meh.

Guy: Returns from SFA  and FF

Cody: Returns from SFA and FF

Dudley: Returns from SFIII

Makoto: Returns from SFIII

Ibuki: Returns from SFIII

Dee Jay: Returns from SSFII and SFA

T-Hawk: Returns from SSFII and SFA

Adon: Return's from SF1 and SFA

The new stages are a VERY welcome addition as the few we got with the original were adequate but I'm one of those who thinks every character needs to have their own distinctive stage.
The new modes are great Endless being my favorite as I can now play against all my friends from Capcom Unity, I also like the revamped Tournament Mode, I will probably never get to a real Street Fighter Tournament so this will do.
I'm a creature of habit and when I discovered the bonus stages weren't in the single player mode of Street Fighter IV it bugged me, the bonus stages are an integral part of what makes Street Fighter, Street Fighter.
This is an amazing update to an already great game....absolutely worth the price!

SSFIV TV promo + print ad media blitz

Capcom's Super Street Fighter IV media blitzkrieg is now in full effect, personally I hate the song in the commercial and the print ads are reminisent of college bar night fliers but I understand them not putting too much money into this games ad campaign. With Super you're either gonna buy it because you're a fan or you're not. This time around there won't be any undecided consumers that get caught up in the hype and nostalgia.

Super Street Fighter IV: Here Comes A New Challenger!

At the very end of the last trailer introducing Ibuki, Dudley and Makoto, you heard a voice say "Looks like it's time to oil up" Well that was the voice of the second brand new character created for Super Street Fighter IV Hakan! He's a Turkish oil wrestler with a very unique fighting style!

Height: 190 cm
Weight: 110 kg
BWH sizes: B172, W160, H165
Blood type: O

SSFIV Here Come the SFIII Challengers

As predicted here is the offical introduction of the Street Fighter III characters coming to Super Street Fighter IV! Ibuki the female ninja, Dudley the gentlemen's boxer, and Makoto the Karate girl. I played Ibuki little bit in Third Strike and I'm looking forward to using her in SSFIV! And seeing Dudley pummel Balrog was just epic and Makoto...well she's aight but I'd rather of had Alex, Yun or Oro in her place.
There's only one fighter left to reveal, Hakan. Rumors say he's middle Eastern and is fighting for oil, if you watch the trailer through it's entirety there's a hint of him at the very end.

SSFIV Juri Vs Chun Li & Cammy Promo trailer

Capcom is firing up the SSFIV hype machine again and here's the first of the ink bleed trailers reminiscent of the one's for SFIV. Personally I wasn't that impressed with the new trailer, pacing was destroyed by Cammy intro, music was good but the action or lack there of didn't equal the tension conveyed in the audio. I assume the background is supposed to be the new construction site but I kept expecting to see Chunny take a dive off the girders like dear ol dad...
Now bring on the Dudley V Balrog trailer and THAT will be ultra hype!

Super Street Fighter IV

Capcom has released yet another trailer for SSFIV, this one showcases the previously confirmed additional fighters Juri, Adon, Cody, Guy, DeeJay, and T Hawk. I suspect the next trailer will have the highly anticipated 3rd Strikers Ibuki, Makoto and Dudley. April 27th can't come soon enough!

Possible New Super Street Fighter IV anime feature

Those of us who preordered the collectors edition of Street Fighter IV also got the anime The Ties that Bind, it was alright but felt more like Street Fighter the Conversations that Bore. It appears Capcom is working on a new anime feature to compliment Super Street Fighter IV and the main focus is Juri the newest (new as in original) addition. This already has SF: TLoCL beat!

Super Street Fighter IV New Modes Trailer

Capcom releases a new trailer that shows off all the new modes!

-Much anticipated Team Battle gets implemented. You can choose the rule (2 on 2 to 4 to 4) yourselves.

-When you select this mode in Request Mode and enter Arcade, you don't have to wait again in the Lobby for your partners to come, as they will already have selected READY, so no waiting. No waiting time.

-You can find a random partner, but also invite a friend for a team.

-Lobbies, you can gather peeps to watch fights together, night after night.

-'When you get tired and want to watch tv, don't touch the remote just yet!', because you can watch replays instead.

-In SFIV you had to click on each and every replay you want to watch, now you can watch a bunch of them with one button based on categories.

-No limit on replay saves (those that you watch on the Channel at least). Prolly. (their words in red) (Whether you can save all fights you want is still unanswered, but god I so hope so)

-Testing Team is busy day and night.

-Work in development, so everything can still get changed!
