Star Wars Rogue One Trailer #2 and New Poster

This is the Star Wars movie I've been looking for!
I've been saying it for years, when I first heard about this movie that I was more interested in Rogue one than TFA and this trailer has completely convinced me I was right.
I pray Rogue One does well in the BO because this is exactly what the franchise needs...to expand the universe. Aside from Daisey Ridley's Rey I prefer the cast of Rogue One, the story looks infinitely more interesting and doesn't rely on stupid macguffins, obsurity and an overwhelming amount of nostalgia that can be mistaken for un-originality and rehashing.
My only concern is Joe movie goer is gonna be totally confused where this movie fits in with continuity with TFA coming  out last year and episode VIII next year.
Another fascinating tidbit is Rogue One has pulled a character from TCW animated series and brought him into the Live Action Universe, Saw Gerrera played by Forest Witaker has set a precedent that will help expand Star Wars down the line. Now we could see Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ahsoka Tanno and many others from all the other genre's of media that Star Wars exists.

Rogue One Panel at Star Wars Celebration

I've been saying since 2014 I'm more hyped for Rogue One than Episode VII TFA, and after seeing the Rogue One Celebration Reel I can say with certainty I'm definitely more hyped for Rogue One!


Gareth Edwards says something during the reel that really surprised me, and the first person  I thought of was JJ Abrams.
"If you're too respectful of it (StarWars) and don't do anythingnew or different and take a risk then what are you bringing to the table".
That basically reiterated my (and many others) frustrations with TFA. Now whether that was a dig at JJ or a calculated line fed to him by Disney/LFL due to the negative backlash against the lack of originality in TFA may never be known.
So Gwendoline Christie (CA Phasma) hosted this panel and it felt a bit awkward, basically the entire cast was unsure just how much they were allowed to talk about, but it was enjoyable and seeing K2S0 drop Jyn's bag was hilarious. Gareth seemed extremely comfortable up there next to Kathleen Kennedy and it showed just how much of a fan he is of the franchise.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Official Teaser Trailer hits!

OK I've been anxiously awaiting this trailer, I'm pretty shocked it came out today....completely unexpected! I was betting it would be attached to CA: CW.
Nevertheless it's here and all I can say is THIS IS THE STAR WARS MOVIE I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!
Now I'm not your average Joe movie goer, I know the chronology of Star Wars and know when Rogue One takes place chronologically, but I'm pretty certain the average person is gonna see this trailer and be completely confused. They'll be scratching there heads wondering where Rey, Finn, Kylo and the rest of TFA cast is.
They'll figure it out...
December can't come soon enough! I wonder if they're going to show Vader in the Official Trailer...I think they may need to.

Star Wars Anthology Rogue One

Now that Star Wars Celebration is over, I can honestly say that for me the most exciting news is Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One!
The movie will focus on a band of resistance fighters that unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans (I assume Bothans will be involved). In my opinion this is exactly what the franchise needs, a way to "expand" the universe without Jedi...I'm not discounting Jedi but Star Wars needs to grow beyond the Skywalkers and the struggle between the light and dark sides. Rogue One will obviously be connected to the primary Star Wars films through common threads most notably that darn Death Star.

Since the info about the mission to steal the Death Star plans turned out to be true I wonder if the rumor that Felicity Jones playing Sabine Wren is true also?
