SFV AE Weekly Missions and Extra Battle Mode for 9/28/18 - 10/5/18

It's Friday September 28th, the 34th week of SFV AE and this weeks missions went live at 12AM last night! This weeks missions are:

1. Perform a crush counter 10X for 50FM

2. View a Demonstration! for 250FM

3. Use Fight Request to play a Casual Match for 500FM

4. Ishizaki's Appeal  for 2,500FM

5. An Arcade score of 100,000 or more will be recorded in the rankings for the title "Snow Hero"

I'll post a video below to show how to complete the requirements for "Ishizaki's Appeal"

Go to Versus Mode, Choose Versus CPU, choose Kanzuki Estate Stage, choose an opponent, and hit your opponent on the right side of the stage until the maid hits Ishizaki with the serving tray.

After completing the weekly missions, head over to the eXtra Battle Mode, this week we have:

1. Get your hands on Fortune Tix against Classic Vega for 250 FM participation fee

2. [Q&I] Get the Mecha Zangief Crossover Costume #1 for 2500 FM participation fee

3. Upper Class Shadaloo Soldier for 1000FM entry fee per try (3X)

This weeks missions can net you  3,300FM

Subtract 2500FM for Geif's first [Q&I] Mecha Geif Crossover Costume

Subtract  250FM for fighting classic Vega for one Fortune Ticket

Subtract 3000 FM for fighting the Upper Class Shadaloo Solder

This week I ended up with 15,050, FM because I opted out of the Mecha Geif Crossover Costume....I don't play Geif enough to justify the FM,  I did fight classic Vega for a  Fortune Ticket, so I spent 250FM on that plus I fought the Upper Class Shadaloo Soldier 3X which cost 3000FM but I beat him 3X so I earned 12,000FM from that this week on XBM.

I created my Dojo on the 25th https://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/dojo/profile/name/illuminonamus  but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get my CFN friends to join my Dojo!

As always keep fighting the good fight. Be smart with your FM don't complain about the XBM golden soldiers and "Shin" versions of characters because the alternative is Capcom charging RM for all DLC characters.

Dark Phoenix | Official Trailer

In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite -- not only to save Jean's soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Trailer or Dear Disney this is how to create a cohesive connected story over multiple generations with a clear beginning and conclusion......

The first movie felt very self contained, but after seeing this trailer I'm seeing some very fascinating connective tissue! Are we witnessing the seeds of Voldemort being sewn? Did we just see Nagini?
Who's the woman sitting next to Credence Barebone? Are these two Tom Riddle's Parents? Is this Grindelward's plan to create Voldemort?
How does the legend of the Deathly Hallows fit into this movie.
After seeing this trailer I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie.
Unfortunately my son who absolutely loved the Harry potter films didn't enjoy the first Fantastic Beasts film...he fell asleep.
So it might be a struggle to get him to join me to see this one.

One Trailer can make a difference!

I have given all my G1 Transformer's toys to my son (except Shockwave and Jetfire) I grew up watching the original series, I watched  the first two Bayformers then opted out of that stupidity. I intoduced my son to transformers with rescue bots and when he was a few years older I showed him TF Prime and he was hooked...a little too much. And most recently we watched Transformers Combiner Wars which was well done for a Youtube series!
Anywho I'm a firm believer that Anime and stuff like Transformers doesn't need to be translated into live action, they're essentially the same genre!
When I saw the first trailer for this Bumblebee Movie I instantly passed on it, now I just saw the "NEW" official trailer (WTF does that mean?) and I might have to go with my son to see this in the theaters afterall......

Can someone please confirm Michael Bay has no involvement in this movie!

A Retrospective of Skill Karin and Cammy 2016-2018

I was watching the Punk V Bonchan match from SCR today and it got me wondering how much have I improved from 2016, so I dug thru the archives on my channel and found my first match against my buddy BlueEyedDemon and his Cammy and my most recent match against him.
THEN 4/10/16

NOW 9/23/18

Did you spot the Zenny symbol in the first video! lmao!
And how about that Roster size? So many snowflakes complaining about the roster size at launch! There is a benefit to a smaller roster size in the beginning, it'll take less time to find the character that works best for you.
And look at all those wonderful stages!

Kill la Kill TGS 2018 Gameplay Trailer

Back in the PS1 days I dabbled in a wider variety of fighting games, Battle Arena Toshshinden, Soul Caliber, MK, but my favorite franchise has always been Street Fighter. I even played Ranma 1/2 on the NES waaaaay back in the day! This generation has seen a semi resurgence in fighting games, Tekken 7, Dragonball FighterZ, Injustice 2, MK XL, KoFXIV, Soul Calibur 6, and SFV, (sorry MVC:I). I've really only played Street Fighter V this generation, I never was that hyped for DBZ and the only other fighting game that I'd like to get is Soul Calibur 6 until I heard about the Kill la Kill game coming! Below is the TGS gameplay trailer...
The game is obviously in it's alpha stage as there was only 4 selectable characters Ryuko, Satsuki, Uzu and Ira and 2 stages to choose from.
There's 4 bars below the characters health bar that build as you take damage and for now it appears the health bars don't reset after beating the opponent. There also appears to be some sort of "clash system" when the two characters attack simultaneously in close proximity.
Now I watched the Kill la Kill all the way thru, but I think the Anime has a "cult following" and never went mainstream, the anime probably turned off a few snowflakes out there. What I'm getting at is this is one fighting game that could benefit from a Story mode.
I'd love to see what type of rating the ESRB is gonna give Kill la Kill! I REALLY doubt it's gonna get E rating.

Star Wars A New Hope Anime Fan Trailer

Why is it that I felt something from this trailer MADE BY A FAN, and not from either of the Resistance trailers we've gotten so far?
Ahriman has taken two of my favorite things from my childhood, Old School Anime and the Original Star Wars and made something very special! See for yourself!

SFV AE Weekly Missions and Extra Battle Mode for 9/21/18 - 9/28/18

It's Friday September 21st, the 33rd week of SFV AE and this weeks missions went live at 12AM last night! This weeks missions are:

1. Perform a combo 10X for 50FM

2. Play a Trial! for 250FM

3. Use Fight Request to play a Ranked Match for 500FM

4. A Short Tailed Bat Colony  for 2,500FM

5. An Arcade score of 100,000 or more will be recorded in the rankings for the title "Hero of the Waters"

6. [CPT 2018] Win 20 Ranked Matches for 10,000FM

I'll post a video below to show how to complete the requirements for "A Short Tailed Bat Colony"

Go to Versus Mode, Choose Versus CPU, choose Forgotten Waterfall, choose an opponent, and hit your opponent on the right side of the stage until a flock of bats fly out of the cave.

After completing the weekly missions, head over to the eXtra Battle Mode, this week we have:

1. Ultra Heavyweight Champion for the title of Ultra Heavyweight Champ 1000 for 1000 FM participation fee per try

2. Get your hands on Fortune Tix against Balrog (SF1 Mike) for 250 FM participation fee

3. [Q&I] Get the Cammy/ Fiona Crossover Costume #4 for 2500 FM participation fee

This weeks missions can net you  3,300FM

Subtract 1000FM per attempt to beat Shin Geif.

Subtract 2500FM for Cammy's fourth [Q&I] Fiona Crossover Costume

Subtract  250FM for fighting Balrog / Mike for some Fortune Tix

This week I ended up with 3,050, FM because I opted out of the Fiona Crossover Costume....I don't play Cammy enough to justify the 10k FM, and I also didn't bother fighting Shin Geif for a title. I did fight Balrog for the 4th time for Fortune Tix, so I only spent 250FM this week on XBM.

We got some cool news this week regarding the upcoming Dojo's coming Sept 25th! I've sync'd my CFN account with the Shadaloo Combat Research Institute (S.C.R.I.) for awhile and find it a useful tool that for the life of me can't understand why it's not incorporated into the game! So when you join Shadaloo you'll recieve the dojo stage for free and then you can name your dojo and begin to personalize it with trophies, vehicles, musical intruments, sports perephenelia and a variety of decorative ornaments. There are different methods to attain dojo items via Dojo Fighting Chance. And there's also Dojo Rankings! In the main dojo menu, you can visit “Member Ranking” to see how all members stand in the dojo. Every member will automatically have points applied to them upon playing Arcade, Survival, Extra Battle, Ranked Match, Casual Match, and Battle Lounge – the more you play, the more points you’ll get. Although you will be able to see which member contributes the most, in the end, every point obtained will factor into the larger dojo rankings where all dojos are displayed on a leaderboard. If your dojo ends each month as one of the top ranks, everyone in that dojo will receive a special decorative object to show off, so work together because every point counts! Dojo rankings can be viewed at any time and go as far as the 10,000th dojo and will begin in October 2018. I will be actively recruiting all my CFN friends to my Dojo! I think this is a fantastic way to build communities within the SF FGC!

And we're also getiing some new Halloween Costumes this year for Falke, Abigail, Guile, and Kolin Sept 25th!

And the Darkstalkers costume pack comes out on the 25th also, there are 3 new costumes added to this pack Morrigan for Chun (duh), Felicia for Menat and Demetri for Ed.

As always keep fighting the good fight. Be smart with your FM don't complain about the XBM golden soldiers and "Shin" versions of characters because the alternative is Capcom charging RM for all DLC characters.

Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel - Official Trailer

After crash-landing to Earth (right into a Blockbuster!), Captain Marvel has no recollection of her time on Earth. She runs into Nick Fury, and the threat of war and intergalactic conflict looms over. There are glimpses of her new interstellar life, but also snippets of her past as a regular human. It’s a past she can’t remember just yet, though right now, she’s something more than that.

The first trailer for the highly anticipated Captain Marvel is here. Played by Academy Award-winner Brie Larson, Captain Marvel — the heroic alter ego of U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers — finds herself caught in the center of an intergalactic alien conflict. The film is set in the 1990s, decades before the Avengers assembled, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it was formed.
Joining Larson are Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury and Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson. Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou reprise their Guardians of the Galaxy roles of Ronan and Korath, respectively. New to the cast are Jude Law as Danvers’ mentor (still unnamed, although all signs point to the comic character Mar-vell), and Annette Bening, also in an undisclosed role.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th, 2019.

Meet the Aces from Star Wars Resistance

Hey kids meet the Voltron Force oops I mean team Aces from the up coming Star Wars Resistance! The 5 pilots for team Aces are,
Torra Dozer (the blue pilot),
Hype Fazon (the green pilot),
Griff Halloran (The Black pilot),
Freya Fenris (the red pilot),
Bo Keevil (the yellow pilot)
They are team Fireballs competition on the platform.
I'm sorry but I'm just not feeling this show. I'll give it a chance of course but right now this show is coming across as a blatant ctrl C ctrl V of Dreamworks Netflix Voltron Legendary Defender series with a splash of Macross Plus.
I think what I might do with this series is record my son's feelings of each episode and just post his thoughts each week.

It's Friday September 14th, the 32nd week of SFV AE and this weeks missions went live at 12AM last night! This weeks missions are:

1. Perform a normal throw 10X for 50FM

2. View Rankings on CFN for 250FM

3. Join/Create a Battle Lounge for 250FM

An Arcade score of 100,000 or more will be recorded in the rankings for the title "Hero of the Waters"

[CPT 2018] Win 20 Ranked Matches for 10,000FM

I'll post a video below to show how to complete the requirements for "Funny Guy"

Go to Versus Mode, Choose Versus CPU, choose Union Station Stage, choose an opponent, and knock your opponent down on the left side of the stage, and hit them with a combo that will make the guy holding the broom fall down and get the bucket stuck on his head.

After completing the weekly missions, head over to the eXtra Battle Mode, this week we have:

1. Rapidly Advancing Shadaloo Grunt for 10,000 EXP minus the 500 FM entry fee X3

2. Get your hands on Fortune Tix against Balrog (SF1 Mike) for 250 FM entry fee

3. [Q&I] Get the Cammy/ Fiona Crossover Costume #3 for 2500 FM participation fee

This weeks missions can net you  3,050FM

Subtract 1500FM for the three times you fight the Rapidly Advancing Shadaloo Grunt

Subtract 2500FM for Cammy's third [Q&I] Fiona Crossover Costume

Subtract  250FM for fighting Balrog / Mike for some Fortune Tix

This week I ended up with -1,950, FM because I was able to go from lvl 52 to 53 with my main and received the 1000FM for that after beating the Rapidly Advancing Shadaloo Grunt, I opted not to do Cammy's [Q&I] for the Fiona Crossover costume and I already fought Balrog's 3rd battle for Fortune Tix, so I didn't spend FM on either of those.

I spent 4,500 FM on Fighting Chance and got the SF1 Sagat skin finally!

As always keep fighting the good fight. Be smart with your FM don't complain about the XBM golden soldiers and "Shin" versions of characters because the alternative is Capcom charging RM for all DLC characters.

Solo a TLJ casualty....

I just watched Solo the other day and regrettably I think this movie is like the innocent person on the side walk minding their own business that gets seriously injured while a crazed mob is marching down the street with torches and pitch forks....Solo never had a chance. Before TLJ many, including myself, were saying I have zero interest in seeing a Solo origins movie. Then the Lord and Miller drama, then, the acting coach rumors, and to 80% reshoots rumors, then TLJ happened....but like I mentioned I just saw it and......I enjoyed it. L3 3T was irritating AF...I was glad to see "her" die. Donald Glover did fine as Lando, and I didn't think Ehrenreich was terrible. Woody Harrelson's character was so obviously gonna betray Han. For me the most interesting character was Emilia Clarke's Qi ra...that character has so much potential to add to the franchise! After watching Solo I wondered, what would Han have done if when he left Leia he bumped into Qi ra all those years later. My Fan boy spirit was reignited and I started to do the match and yeah Rey could be....and for that connective thread to be true it would make the ST just a bit better!
Solo isn't great but it was entertaining and there is some real impressive cinematography and there is potential to expand the Universe and flesh it out even more.
Oh and then there's the guest appearance by my favorite ex Sith. Now if you were totally perplexed by his appearance then you sir never watched TCW and SW Rebels and you sir are not a Star Wars fan, good day sir! But if you did recognize Sam Witwer's voice then congrats you are a fan!
All in all Solo is an enjoyable space adventure with Star Wars characters. Definately worth checking out post mortem....

It's Friday September 7th, the 31st week of SFV AE and this weeks missions went live at 12AM last night! This weeks missions are:

1. Use a V-Skill 10X for 50FM

2. Use the Replay Search feature on CFN for 250FM

3. Play a Casual Match for 500FM

4. Blunder Bus for 2,500FM

An Arcade score of 100,000 or more will be recorded in the rankings for the title "Hero of the Waters"

[CPT 2018] Win 20 Ranked Matches for 10,000FM

I'll post a video below to show how to complete the requirements for "Blunder Bus".

Go to Versus Mode, Choose Versus CPU, choose Bustling Side Street Stage, choose an opponent, and beat your opponent on the right side of the stage, and finish them with an attack which will knock them into the bus, done.

After completing the weekly missions, head over to the eXtra Battle Mode, this week we have

1. Middle Class Shadaloo Grunt for 2,500 FM minus the 500 FM entry fee X3

2. Get your hands on Fortune Tix against Balrog (SF1 Mike) for 250 FM entry fee

 3. [Q&I] Get the Cammy/ Fiona Crossover Costume #2 for 2500 FM participation fee

This weeks missions can net you  3,300 FM + an additional 6,000 FM if you defeat the High Roller Shadaloo Elite Soldier 3X + 10,000FM for the CPT 2018 mission win 20 Ranked Matches.

Subtract 500FM for each time you fight the Middle Class Shadaloo Grunt

Subtract 2500FM for Cammy's second [Q&I] Fiona Crossover Costume

Subtract  250FM for fighting Balrog / Mike for some Fortune Tix

So this week I ended up with 19,050FM FM, not too shabby.
I blew 9,000 FM on Fighting Chance trying to get SF1 Sagat skin.
What a fucking waste of FM! All I got for 9,000 FM was some damn Battle Items for Survival Mode and some Character Art!

As always keep fighting the good fight. Be smart with your FM don't complain about the XBM golden soldiers and "Shin" versions of characters because the alternative is Capcom charging RM for all DLC characters.
