Christmas arrived a few hours early for Star Wars fans this year as Jamie Costa released his Kenobi Fan Film.
Jamie Costa impressed me with his 2016 fan film Han Solo a Smuggler's Trade, and this time he took it to the next level. I think Rian Johnson could learn a thing or two about respecting the source material and understanding Star Wars legacy characters.
Between Jamie Costa and Star Wars Theory we know that George Lucas's Galaxy is still alive with the fandom!
Well hello there...
The ST has been a bit disappointing, but this puts a smile on my face!
The D23 Expo has not disappointed so far, I'm already so excited for The Mandalorian and now we have Ewan McGregor returning as Obi Wan Kenobi! When Solo failed at the B.O. and Iger reported that Disney was going to slow the Star Wars franchise machine down and the often rumored Kenobi film was axed many fans, myself included cried out and were suddenly silenced.
But alas a New Hope has been born with Ewan Kenobi and D+!
We did get a good look at the updated Star Wars "canonical" time line, and according to this Luke will be roughly 6-7 years old during the show, Maul is out there, possibly on Dathomir building the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate. This is roughly 8 years before Maul is found on Malachor. And 13 years before Maul meets his final demise at the hands of Obi Wan Kenobi on Tatooine.
I pray this show delivers. I'll be watching this shows development with great interest!
The guys that made the Han Solo: A Smugglers Trade fan Film are working on a Kenobi Fan Film!
Since Disney has pretty much dropped their Stand Alone Movie plans after Solo's abyssal BO results (it's not that bad), It's up to the fans to keep Hope alive!
I enjoyed their Han Solo Fan film and with a little crowd funding I trust this Kenobi Fan film will be great!
If you've never seen A Smugglers Trade I put it down below for you to check out.
