The Circle of Life

Tryptifaeris decides to take a vacation and go to Windurst, where the pace is much slower than Jeuno and Bastok. The peace and quiet will do him good. After arriving I head over to Windurst woods to watch the Dhamels in the zoo, after a few minutes there I decide to head over to the fishing guild in Port Windurst to sell off some fish but make a wrong turn and end up in one of Windy's back ally's, there I meet Perih Vashal, I figured maybe she could tell me where I was and how to get to Port, but she started talking about the cycle of life and the great beast in the Sauromogue. She asked me if I'd be willing to bring back the beasts tooth and she'd explain more about the life of a ranger.

I warp back to Jeuno and rent a chocobo and set off into the Sauromogue in search of the great fanged beast. I find the cave and dismount my ride and enter, as I walk deeper in I spot an old sabertooth, I observe it and notice it's health meter slowly draining. This noble beasts live was coming full circle, it staggered to the back of the cave and colapsed on a pile of old sabertooth bones, the words of Perih Vashal came to mind as I watched the Great Fanged Beast die.

When I returned the fang of the great beast to Perih Vashal I attained the advanced job of Ranger.

My Nindo, My Ninja Way

After finally helping Mertaire find his inspiration I head home to Bastok for a little R&R....Or at least that was the plan, when the airship landed in Port Bastok I headed to the residential zone but ended up at Ensetsu's house instead. He told me that he recently sold a blade to the Tenshodo but now regrets the decision, he asks me to pay Kagetora a visit in the Tenshodo warehouse and try to convince him to return the blade.
Kagetora explains that the blade has already been purchased by Ryoma in Norg, but he might be willing to trade the blade for some strangely shaped coral that can be attained by killing 3 Korroloka Leeches...

So off I head to Korroloka Tunnel to hunt down these 3 NM leeches to get the Strangley Shaped Coral.

Tryptifaeris enters the Korroloka Tunnel in search of the Korroloka Leeches, while exploring I spot a KO'd lvl 46 THF and raise him and ask if he'll assist me in killing these three leeches so I can get the coral, so now the two of us are navigating the tunnels and reach our destination. It is recomended in the guide that to fight these three leeches a PT of at least 4 level 40 adventurers are recomended, well a lvl 50 WHM (me) and a lvl 46 THF defeated them.

I thank the THF and promptly teleport to the Yhoator Jungle, I make my way thru the maze-like paths and tunnels to Yutunga Jungle and reach a bluff overlooking a field, at the far end of the field two waterfalls. I suddenly recall the tale of Krogenar and the two Falls, I drop down a sinkhole and run across the field to the waterfall on the right and the entrance to Sea Serpent Grotto.

Once inside Sea Serpent Grotto I carefully navigate the caverns to Norg a hideout for Pirates and the headquarters of the ninja's of Vana Diel. I find Ryoma and trade him the strangely shaped coral for the blade.

After listening to Ryoma complain about Ensetsu I attain the blade and head back to Bastok. Ensetsu explains to his younger daughter that the Blade belonged to her mother, and that the two met in Norg and moved to Bastok when she became pregeant with Ayame, Kaede's older sister.

After the heartwarming family moment I attain the advance job title of Ninja! After helping all these people out I decide to travel to Windurst and get a little R&R....

Music soothes the Savage BST

Tryptifaeris has been very busy, after reaching level 20 with my warrior (WAR) I made my way from the Valkurm Dunes to Jeuno, I stoped by The Chocobo stables in Upper Jeuno to say hello to Brutus and got word that Dietmund's son was very ill. Nobody cared much for the abusive beastmaster, but I felt bad for his son Domingart, so I paid Dietmund a visit in Lower Jeuno, when he answered the door he was hysterical, his son was worse than I expected. Dietmund mentioned an extremely rare flower that exists on Qufim Isl. the nightflower that blooms at 20:00. but it was guarded by a Kraken. I headed down thru the underground tunnel to Qufim Island as my lvl 50 White Mage (WHM), waited till the nightflowers began to bloom, cast Sneak on myself and walked past the Kraken to the patch of nightflowers . Just then Dietmund shows up, he mentions he needs the roots also. Neither of us apparently are able to dig them out of the ground, fortunately his old chocobo then arrives on the scene and begins digging until it finds the nightflower bulbs. Dietmund jumps on the Chocobo and races back to Jeuno, I warp back and go to check on Domingart. He has eaten the nasty flowers and is all better, he gives me the beast whistle and 2100 gil and I attain the title of Beastmaster (BST)

After all the excitement I walk over to the Merry Minstrel Meadhouse for an ale, while sitting at thebar I notice some guy sitting at a table all alone sulking so I ask the guy "what's troubling you son?" Mertaire told me that his girlfriend has left him and he's struggling to write her a worthy song to get her back. Bki Tbujhja, the bar keep, mentioned something about song ruins in Buburimu Peninsula, the ruins are about two separated lovers. I thought that the lyrics might inspire Mertaire so I teleported to the crag of Mea, rented a chocobo and headed to the beach in Buburimu Peninsula where the rumored ruins were to be located, after finding the stone tablet I began to read the inscription and a man came up to the tablet and told me about the story behind it, he also mentioned there was a second tablet located somewhere in the Valkurm Dunes...

I transcribed the ruins onto a piece of parchment and warped back to Jeuno to show Mertaire, but this only made him more upset, suddenly Lewenhart, the man I met on the beach appeared and tried to explain that even though the story on the tablets was old, it was timeless. I decided to search for the second set of ruins and perhaps that would help inspire this sap. I teleport myself to the Crag of Dem, rent a chocobo and ride to the Valkurm Dunes.

I found the second set of ruins and begin to transcribe the second half when out of nowhere Lewenhart and Mertaire show up. Mertaire realizes who Lewenhart is and I discover that Lewenhart is a well know Bard and I attain the title of Bard and a cool 5k gil.

I Can Hear a Rainbow

On the 11th of January I logged on and headed to the Zerhurn mines to collect some ores for Blacksmithing, when I got a /t from Krogenar asking if I wanted to meet in the Maze of Shakrami and farm leeches for Carbuncles Ruby. That sounded like more fun than what I had planned so I run to my mog house and change from WAR/WHM to WHM/BLM, then warp to my home point in Port Jeuno....where Krog is, then teleport to the Crag of Mea, the maze is right nearby. Once we navigate to the very lowest area of the maze we begin eliminating leeches, it was about 15-20 minutes later we get the Ruby. Afterwards I warped back to Jeuno then took the first Air Ship to Windurst, once there I headed to the house of the hero in Windy Walls and met Koru Moru, he inquired about the ruby I held and a voice spoke telling me to collect 7 colors of the rainbow.
In order to release Carbuncle I had to expose the ruby to 7 different weather conditions, sunny, cloudy, windy, snowy, rainy, thunder storms, and a heat wave. After exposing Carbuncles Ruby to the final weather condition it levitates into the air and shatters into a gillion shards, from it Carbuncle appears and tells me to follow him to La Thiene, I follow him to a small opening north west of the crag of Holla, place the Carbuncle Ruby in a hole in the ground and am greeted once again by Carbuncle. He pledges himself to me but tells me I must find others like him, then Carbuncle will reveal the true Vana Diel and create a bridge for me to meet the ancients.

Genkai 1: Horizon Breaker

Four months after I got my WHM AF2 I returned to Ru'Lude Gardens to meet Maat, the old man who would help me reach beyond lvl 50.

He told me to collect three rare/ex items, an ancient papyrus from a Lich in the Eldieme Necropolis, exoray mold from an Exoray in the Crawlers Nest and bomb coal from a Explosure in the Garilage Citadel.
Each item was in a dungeon located on one of the three areas outside Jeuno, Rollenberry Fields, Batillia Downs and Sarumugue Champagne. Getting the items prooved to be more challenging than I anticipated, the papyrus took two trips on different days to get. Getting the explosure required the help of 3 other players to get past the banishing gate. The easiest item to get was the Exoray mold in the crawlers nest.
Once I had all three items I returned to the old man in Ru' Lude and the invisible barrier was broken until I reached 55.
