Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

The curtain of secrecy is beginning to lift on Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix! This game is a colabrative effort between Capcom, Udon, and Backbone. This labor of love began with the simple plan to give SSFIIT a 1080p facelift like they did with Super Puzzle Fighter, all sprites, backgrounds, and endings were being redrawn but the challenge expanded and soon evolved into a full project where not only were the aesthetics being reworked but also the gameplay. Each character has recieved some type tweek, the bottom tier characters got some much needed work to become more attractive competively and the top tier characters have also been reworked slighty to make all of the cast a bit more balanced, that way you never have a Shin Akuma vs Dan senario. Yes I know Dan isn't in SSFIIT...it was simply an example.
From the two early screen shots here we can see the amount of detail that has gone into this project, visually the game is going to be gorgeous. And without nerfing the gameplay mechanics this DLC
title for PS3 and X360 maybe the definitive version of the classic Street Fighter II!

SSFIITHDR will have all 17 of the original Super Street Fighter® II Turbo cast, one to two player head-to-head play either offline or online, Single player vs. CPU, player vs. player over the same console, player vs. player online, training mode, An improved network code for the best possible online fighting game experience, numerous online features: In-game voice chatting between players, matchmaking flexibility through multiple options, personal and friends statistics tracking, Quarter Match Mode– this spectator-based system allows online competitors (2 competitors and up to 4 spectators) to use a "virtual quarter" to "buy into" heated two player matches, comprehensive worldwide rankings and leaderboards by character and country - tracks overall wins and losses, number of throws, perfects, highest combos and more, widescreen support with option to select classic 4:3 mode for SF purists.
And now there's a chance for X360 owners to be a Beta tester for SSFIITHDR if they DL Commando3 from XBLA, no word on the PS3 side but it wouldn't make sense to only beta test the X360 build of the game.
Check out the first gameplay footage for SSFIITHDR below SHORYUKEN!
